Riga, Latvia – October 13, 2025
Biosan had the honor of hosting Dr. Reiner Haseloff, Minister-President of Saxony-Anhalt, together with representatives of the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce (AHK), at its headquarters in Riga.
The visit followed the recent Latvian business mission to Germany, the largest to date, where more than 180 Latvian company representatives, led by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Economics, visited Rostock and Hamburg. Biosan’s participation in this mission laid the foundation for further dialogue and cooperation with leading German institutions in the field of biotechnology and life sciences.
The aim of the visit was to strengthen collaboration between Latvian and German organizations within the BioEconomy network, which includes Bio-Zentrum Halle, Corvay Bioproducts GmbH, the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical-Biotechnological Processes CBP Leuna, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Köthen and Merseburg), UPM Biochemicals GmbH, and others.
During the visit, guests were introduced to Biosan’s philosophy, product portfolio, and production facilities, highlighting the company’s dedication to innovation, ergonomics, and sustainability in laboratory technology. The program also featured a visit to Biosan’s joint laboratory with the Institute of Microbiology and Virology at Riga Stradiņš University (RSU), where visitors observed Biosan equipment in action, demonstrating its precision and reliability in scientific research.
This visit reflects a growing partnership between Biosan and RSU and underscores a shared commitment with regional partners to foster cross-border cooperation in biotechnology and life sciences, an important step toward strengthening Europe’s research and innovation ecosystem.
